ARK WINGS

ArkWings is a small project that started as a mini render to practice my skills in Blender and to achieve an aesthetic I had been aiming for artistically. Later, after much internal debate, I decided to take the leap and blindly jumped into developing this idea in Unreal Engine. It wasn't easy since it was my first experience with both programming and game engines.

I chose to be more straightforward and used Unreal Engine because it is more user-friendly for newcomers. With the help of node-based programming tutorials available on YouTube, I was able to push this mini project forward. However, it wasn't without its challenges, both in Unreal and Blender, that I had to overcome.

The most notable problem was probably internal. Initially, this small project was supposed to be 2 levels with 1 final boss to defeat, inspired by the game FURY. However, trying to match that level of detail would have taken a lot of time in terms of learning and development (which I attempted over a couple of months), including animations, systems, programming, music, etc.

Thus, I finally decided to make a twist and create a few more levels, turning it into a small platformer with hidden secrets!

I hope you enjoy this small project as much as I enjoyed making it.

ArkWings es un pequeño proyecto que empezó como un mini render para practicar mis habilidades en Blender y lograr capturar una estetica que llevaba buscando lograr artísticamente hablando , posteriormente tras debatir internamente decidí dar el salto y ciegamente me lance al desarrollo de esta idea en Unreal engine, no fue fácil puesto que era mi primer contacto tanto con la programación y los engine de videojuegos.

opte por ser mas directo y use unreal engine debido a que este es mas amigable con los nuevos usuarios en conjunto con tutoriales de la programación en nodos que este posee en YouTube pude sacar adelante este mini proyecto que obviamente no estuvo exento de problemas tanto en unreal como en Blender que tuve que sortear.

El problema mas remarcable quizás que tuve fue netamente interno debido a que en un principio este pequeño proyecto seria 2 niveles con 1 jefe final a derrotar tomado en base al  juego  FURY pero el intentar igualar ese nivel de detalle me llevaría muchísimo tiempo tanto de aprendizaje como de desarrollo (el cual intente llevar a cabo durante un par de meses) en si véase animaciones, sistemas, programación, música, etc.  

Fue así como decidí finalmente dar un giro de tuerca y hacer un par de niveles mas y que sea un pequeño plataforma con secretos incluidos!
